my friends and i started a small hosting company and now the programmer dude that handles the server wants to quit. i am wondering, what should i ask from him (ftp? u/n, p/w, etc) and are there anything out there that could help me run the VPS on our own without him?

I’m assuming this is a Linux VPS. The only thing you need is the root password, IP address, and SSH port number. Also be sure that you are the contact at your provider’s so that you have authority over the VPS.
