Lloyd’s Development Capital ( LDC ), the private equity arm of Lloyd’s Trustee Savings Bank, the third largest bank in the U.K. (and state-backed) announced today that it has acquired a majority stake in leading web hosting provider UK2Group . The UK2 Group, which includes Web hosting brands such as VPS.NET and 100TB, is now under new management. Lloyds TSB Development Capital (LDC) and it’s management team have bought a 47million ($77M USD) stake in the established Web hosting and cloud services provider.

IT services company MGM Wireless (ASX:MWR) has begun offering its student management systems as a Cloud-based solution in an attempt to increase availability of its solution. The solutions, which allow schools to contact parents by SMS, communicate events and mark attendance rolls, will be moved into a 700 square metre, $80 million data centre maintained by itX-owned Web hosting company ICO in North Ryde, one MGM Wireless claimed was the most secure and best designed in Australia.
