Microsoft: Windows 8 Definitely Supporting ARM-based Systems Thursday, January 06, 2011, 11:31:27 AM Just days before their presentation at the world renowned Consumer Electronics Show (CES) Microsoft announced that the next version of Windows will support System on a Chip (SoC) architectures including ARM-based systems from partners NVIDIA, Qualcomm and Texas Instruments. Windows 7 has been criticized for not being light-weight enough to be fully compatible with new technologies like tablet pc’s, smart phones and the latest laptops, which is thought to be the helping hand Microsoft needed to adapt to the ARM platform
