Will Parking A Domain Continue To Be Lucrative Business?

Will Parking A Domain Continue To Be Lucrative Business?

Parking Until the Time is Right

Domain name assets are soaring which is good news for those individuals who advocate parking a domain is the road to riches. In March 2009 Business Wire announced that the company, Live Current Media, a business that owns in excess of 800 domain names, has been selling off a couple of its domain names, after already making $500,000 from the sale of a previous domain name. Parking a domain, when you eventually rake in half a million dollars, is clearly worth the small annual parking fee. The latest two sales netted $1.65 million dollars so, if parking a domain for a little while until the time is right to sell can net you more than $2 million, then it is clearly something we should all be doing.

Domain Names are an Investment

Sales of non-essential domain names are clearly a successful management strategy for this company. This maintains a positive cash-flow during the worst of the recession, enabling Live Current Media to continue to operate on without having to resort to dipping into their shareholdings. It

Registering a domain: if I pay x price, will it ever go up because of bids for the domain?

Registering a domain: if I pay x price, will it ever go up because of bids for the domain?

One of my friend’s bands was just signed by interscope records, and I am creating his website for him. No one really knows about it yet, as he has not released anything, which is why (I assume) that I can register the band name as a domain for only $3 a year (and I’m willing to pay up to $50 if necessary).

But lets jump the gun and say that the group really does make it, and people want to establish a fan website or whatever. Will the people who I bought the domain name from take bids from the other people in which my name will always be up for auction?

And if this would be defined in the contract/user agreement, what terms should I look for?

Thanks!
Thanks; I forgot what website it was, but I was looking at the prices earlier and when I saw that one domain was taken, next to it it said “make bid.”

How Much Will Cost Web Hosting Service For Your Website

First of all, there are a large amount of several kinds of hosting – from dedicated servers to image hosting. The type of hosting that you need generally sets the guideline on how a good deal you are going to spend. I am going to break down the categories by pricing only but should include the types you can get for the price.

$0 Free Web Hosting Plans

These are generally your free website hosting, image and file hosting. Free website hosting aide is exorbitant if you wish to make a quick mini site, want to test out your website building skills, trouble a place to test scripts, etc. Free web hosting is not argued for any websites you plan to initiate money from.

$1.00-$10.00/m – Shared Web Hosting Plans

This price range covers hosting plans for your general website. Any medium income website should be OK within the price range. Be levelheaded though – do not expect to get wonderful service from a host offering 100GB disk space and 1000GB bandwidth for $2.00/m.

$15.00-$40.00/m – Virtual Privet Server (VPS)

These price ranges include high end shared hosting, reseller plans, and VPS plans. These are by and large reserved for special websites like a web hosting reseller or a website such a requires root access(a VPS plan) for whatever reason.

$45.00/m -$400+/m – Dedicated Server Hosting

This price margin can key in some above the usual end VPS plans as well as dedicated servers. You will want to go amongst a dedicated server if you have a high traffic website or high resource usage website (forums amongst 100+ active users(users online at a single point in time) very much ask for their own dedicated servers because SQL usage goes through the roof.

I pray that by now you suffer a well indication on how a great deal you want to spend/need to spend on your web hosting. I also wrote a more detailed article that can be found over the resource link below. This will help you additional if you a good deal are unsure about the price duration you must be in.

Will Global Financial Crisis Result in Benefits to Expired Domain Market?

Will Global Financial Crisis Result in Benefits to Expired Domain Market?

The year 2009 seems to be a year of uncertainties and imponderables. Now that this year is in front of us, most people are under tremendous tension and stress with looming job losses and depreciation of cash assets. With so much doubts lingering about their abilities to make a decent living, people may start looking for alternative sources of income that is just enough to sustain their living. When the money deposits are no safer in a bank, how does an investor plan to keep his or her money? It might be quite difficult for anyone to protect their investments from emerging inflation as well as big companies facing bankruptcy.

There is one possible answer to all these emerging problems. Expired domain names could be the real answer for today’s investment problems. You can quote a number of reasons for this possibility:

Expired domains are a big global community. Most general impression is that internet can never fall because of its true universal appeal and makeup. In spite of global recession, internet is growing at a satisfactory pace that is likely to remain so for the next decade or so.

Expired domains are stable and this unique factor makes it a very good candidate for a lucrative business.

Domain names expiring are immune from economic recession and pending debts.

Expired domain is fit enough to face any unstable economic situations.

Expired domains are those profitable virtual assets that are intangible and inexpensive to own and manage

The cost to hold your expired domain is very less when compared to other businesses

The growth potential for expired domains is still very good though the big hype around it is coming down over the years.

Internet is still the cheapest and cost effective medium that anyone can access very easily. Domains provide an easy way for people to acquire knowledge and perform business activities.

Expired domains provide a perfect opportunity to maintain them as hedge; this unique factor makes them as viable instruments of profitability.

In spite of visible threats like cyber terror, cyber attacks, virus threats and spam, expired domain business remains the most desirable business in the world of internet commerce. The average price for domain registration is coming down very drastically while the cost of owning a very good expired domain seems to be somewhat constant. Internet is a very stable medium and people still believe that it will weather and encounter any type of problems including global recession.

In an unstable period like today, the likelihood of expired domain buyers holding on to the old domains and buying news ones at the same time, may increase at an astonishing pace. People who saw the age-old days of dot com collapse are too wise to part with their precious expired domains. As a result, domains expiring are still the preferred mode of investment for thousands of domain traders; most of them are still doing their business as if nothing serious is happening around them!

Will a VPS Web Hosting company fill my needs?

Will a VPS Web Hosting company fill my needs?

After a year and a half of hosting a CGI based database site with a shared hosting company, resulting in occasional server overloads and web site shutdowns, it’s obvious that I need to change my hosting plan. My former hosting company says that the CGI scripts are causing the overloads. Would a VPS hosting plan be a good alternative for me? Does anyone know any good, reliable VPS hosting companies?

Thanks!
