There were no six-figure domain name sales in the week to 13 February on Domain Name Journal’s list of top reported sales. In a rather quiet start to the year when it comes to blockbuster sales, the biggest seller of the week was award.com, which sold for $56,005 through Sedo. Second for the week was submit.com, selling for $35,000 through MediaOptions/UpMarketURLs while third was screenshots.com, selling for $32,500 through Eric Rice/DNCartoons.

Domain name sales picked up in late January and early February with three six-figure sales according to Domain Name Journal’s list of top reported sales in the fortnight to 6 February. The sales were action.com ($270,00 through Sedo), TS.com ($186,00 also through Sedo) and stockbrokers.com ($185,000 in a private sale)

January has been a quiet month for domain name sales and the week to 23 January was no exception, according to Domain Name Journal’s list of top reported sales. The week saw .COM names take the top six positions and Sedo responsible for the top seven sales, with the top selling domain being 06.com, for a very uninspiring price for a weekly top seller of $91,888

A quiet week in the week to 16 January for the Domain Name Journal list of top reported sales that saw no six-figure sales.

The year ended with two six-figure domain name sales making a grand total of 84 according to Domain Name Journal’s list of top reported sales for the week to 2 January. Top selling domain name for the week was onlinekredit.net, which sold for €100,000 ($131,000), unsurprisingly through Sedo which began the year as it ended. In the first week of sales, Domain Name Journal reported that credit.fr was the top selling domain, selling for a whopping €587,500 ($851,875).

Jf.com topped the weekly Domain Name Journal sales charts for the week to 26 December, selling for $101,000 through Sedo, the week’s only reported six-figure sale. As noted by Domain Name Journal, it was the 82nd reported sale that made it to six-figures for the year.

There’s money in ringtones, including the domain name RingTones.com, which sold recently for $750,000 through Sedo according to Domain Name Journal’s list of top reported domain name sales in the week to 12 December. The sale was one of a quartet of domain names selling for over the $100,000 mark. The others were decide.com, kf.com and temps.com that sold for $175,000, $123,504 and $117,650 respectively.

Beem.com was the week’s top selling domain name according to Domain Name Journal’s weekly list of reported sales to 21 November. Beem.com sold for $136,000 through Sedo, with Sedo taking the top four positions on the top 20 chart, ten of the top 11 (there was a tie for 10th) and 14 of the top 20. Beem.com was the only sale that made it into the six-figure mark during the week with BlackFridaySales second selling for $90,000 and then LittleAngels.com third ($50,000) while the week’s top ccTLD sale came in at fourth (AG.de (€30,000 / $40,200).

The owners of RedWine.com may have opened a special bottle of red when the domain name sold for $150,000, making it the top sale of the week to 3 October according to Domain Name Journal’s list of top reported sales. The next biggest sale was UG.de, which sold for €50,000 ($69,500), both names selling through Sedo along with 14 of the top 20 sales. IPO.com was the top selling domain name in the week to 26 September according to Domain Name Journal’s list of top reported domain name sales, selling for $500,000 through Sedo. IPO.com sold for more than six times the amount of the next biggest sale of the week, AirTickets.com, which sold for $80,000, also through Sedo.
