July 29, 2011 — Internet infrastructure services provider VeriSign announced on Thursday via its quarterly earnings report that CEO Mark McLaughlin is resigning and company founder will return to CEO duties. McLaughlin joined the company in 2000 and has served in the position of CEO for the past two years. VeriSign said that McLaughlin is leaving the company to become CEO of an unnamed private company.

The Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) said that the time it took websites and broadband providers to respond to complaints had halved in the past year.
