First announced last June , the data center has partnered with managed hosting provider Logicalis ( www.logicalis.com ) to offer a full host of dedicated managed services, in addition to colocation, disaster recovery, and cloud computing services. The data center is built in a former warehouse in the Basalt Business Park at 20845 Sockeye Place, located in Oregon’s Enterprise Zone

Dave Leonard, SVP of data center operations at ViaWest (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) – Web hosting provider ViaWest ( www.viawest.com ) announced on Thursday that the grand opening ceremony for its Portland, Oregon data center are scheduled for May 12.  According to the press release, Hillsboro II is the company’s second data center investment in the region. “ViaWest continually invests in its data centers, technology, and people,” Roy Dimoff, chairman and CEO of ViaWest said in a statement. “We are very excited to expand both our investment and our local involvement in the Portland area.”  ViaWest says it owns and operaties 21 data centers including Hillsboro II

The ad will be broadcast in California Wednesday, where Greenpeace hopes to reach many of the company’s 2,000 employees in Silicon Valley, according to a blog post by the Guardian . Realistically, would be highly unlikely for Facebook to change its power source, let alone by the tight deadline set out by Greenpeace.
