Inside the i/o ANYWHERE modular data center (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) – Data center operator i/o Data Centers ( www.iodatacenters.com ) announced on Thursday that it has opened a 221,000 square foot modular data center factory in Phoenix to manufacture its i/o ANYWHERE data center modules. According to the press release, the factory’s initial capacity allows for up to 18 MW of data center modules per month. The first i/o ANYWHERE modules are to be rolled out of the factory in the first half of 2011 to satisfy existing orders.  Released in July 2010 , i/o ANYWHERE modular systems are ideal for customers who want to have the option to deploy the modules at any of their IT sites and maintaining them with their own staff

Microsoft Offers Developers Cloud Security Tips Microsoft this week published a best practices guide for writing applications to its Windows Azure cloud computing environment. “We wrote this paper because no matter how many defenses we add to Windows Azure, it is important that people building software or hosting services in ‘The Cloud’ understand that they must also build software with security in mind from the start,” blogged Michael Howard, principal security program manager of Microsoft’s Security Development Lifecycle team.

Microsoft offers security guidance for Azure cloud Microsoft began offering on Monday guidance intended to help developers make secure applications for the company’s Windows Azure cloud platform.
