I want to give domain name registration functionality on my website. So can anybody give me step by step procedure to doing this?

I would like to make a profit on the internet. I found out that you can use Godaddy.com to create a domain name and then sell it in a auction. I was just wondering if someone would know more about this or know someone that has done this. Did it bring positive results or not.
