08|16|2010 6:14 pm EDT Millions of Network Solutions Parked Pages Were Serving Malware by Adam Strong in Categories: Miscellaneous – 1 Comment Armorize, a web security company, reported on their blog today that Network Solutions had been displaying a widget box that contains malware .  The company was notified and quickly remedied the parking pags.  Based on a yahoo search only, there are over 5 million domain names with NSI parked landers that may have been affected by this drive by malware

IBM opens up beta for AIX 7 – Register

For only the second time since Big Blue entered the Unix market for real in February 1990 with the launch of the RS/6000 line of workstations and servers, the company is letting customers who use its Power-based servers take a future AIX release for a test drive in an open beta program. The AIX 7 open beta, which launches today, gives customers a download of the binaries in a DVD ISO image that they can burn onto media and install on the last several generations of Power machines. Apple’s App Store Rivals Seen Gaining

Apple’s App Store Rivals Seen Gaining Thanks to the popularity of the iPhone, Apple holds the top spot now when it comes to mobile app stores. But telecom research firm Ovum predicts that’s set to change over the next four years, with rivals like Android and the BlackBerry poised for tremendous growth. That change could even see Apple be unseated by Android, according to Ovum’s Mobile Application Download Forecast 2009-2015 report, which found that app stores collectively will grow by a compound annual growth rate of about 41 percent globally over the next five years, with total downloads topping 21.2 billion — up from 2.69 billion in 2009.
