More than 200,000 .РФ domain names were registered on day one of open registration for the Russian national Cyrillic domain. Open registration commenced on 11 November with any Russian citizen now entitled to register a .РФ domain.
The Bulgarian Ministry of Transport, Information Technologies and Communications has recently announced that they will propose four new cyrillic domain names. This decision was made due to the recent refusal of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers .ICANN has recently refused Bulgaria’s proposal for the cyrillic sufix “бг”
