August 25, 2011 — UK-based cloud infrastructure provider Flexiant announced on Thursday that it has partnered with platform as a service provider Standing Cloud to launch “Standing Cloud powered by Flexiant.” The integration of Flexiant’s Extility cloud platform with Standing Cloud’s application layer will simplify the deployment and management of cloud applications, according to the press release.

August 17, 2011 — Cloud hosting provider Amazon Web Services announced on Tuesday that it has launched AWS GovCloud, designed to enable US government agencies to move sensitive workloads to the cloud while meeting regulatory and compliance requirements. AWS says its new region offers the same level of security as other AWS regions and supports AWS security controls like HIPAA, FISMA, FIPS 140-2, SAS 70, ISO 27001, and PCI DSS Level 1.

July 29, 2011 — Cloud computing software developer 4PSA announced on Thursday it has released Business Zone API, a REST based web service that partners can use to access and automatically provision cloud services and software licenses. The move comes just a few weeks after 4PSA launched its new developer resource website.
