The Mac Pro and Mac mini will provide two options for those wanting to run Apple-based infrastructure after the last Xserve servers are shipped in January. (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Technology heavyweight Apple ( www.apple.com ) said it is “transitioning away from Xserve”, its 1U rackmount line of servers, noting that the Mac Pro tower and Mac mini with Snow Leopard Server will provide options for those wanting to run Apple-based infrastructure after January 31, 2011. According to Apple, which has issued a “Xserve Transition Guide” , customers looking to upgrade, replace, or supplement existing Xserve systems with new Apple hardware will have Mac Pro and Mac mini as options.
