IBM Leads Collaborative EU Initiative to Develop New Cloud Storage Architecture – Web Host Industry Review

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — As part of its expanded cloud computing strategy , technology provider IBM ( www.ibm.com ) is leading a joint research initiative of 15 European partners to develop a smart cloud storage architecture to improve the global delivery of rich data and storage services across borders and vendor boundaries. The EU-funded initiative known as VISION Cloud ( www.visioncloud.eu ) will bring together consortium partners including standards bodies, media companies, telecommunications companies, healthcare companies, and academic institutions. The goal of VISION Cloud is to develop a new approach to storage that will tackle the major challenges facing today’s storage clouds including cost-effectiveness, data mobility across cloud providers, security guarantees, and the massive computing power demands.

EMC Greenplum Cloudera Partner to Help Better Manage and Analyze Big Data
