Infinera’s InP photonic integrated circuits include a 100Gb/s transmit PIC and 100Gb/s (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Interoute ( www.interoute.com ) and Infinera ( www.infinera.com ) announced last week they have completed a demonstration of Infinera’s new 500Gb/s photonic integrated circuits, which deliver 100Gb/s channels, on the Interoute pan-European network. Taking place between Amsterdam and London, this marks the first demonstration of Infinera’s PIC-based 100Gb/s channels transmitted on a European network. Interoute, whose pan-European network was the first in Europe to deploy Infinera’s 100Gb/s photonic integrated circuits more than three years ago, is planning to use Infinera’s systems based on 100Gb/s channels enabled by 500 Gb/s PICs to ensure it continues to support Europe’s demand for high capacity bandwidth
