In my job, I’ve inherited responsibility for a website that was set-up long before I started working here. There are no records as to who the domain name is registered with and what the domain’s passwords, etc, are. We’re about to shift to a new hosting company and I need to know this info – how can I find out? Thanks

very simple .. Just type this in your browser and press enterhttp://www.whois.sc/YOURDOMAIN.COM
Note : YOURDOMAIN.COM ~ mywebsite.com ( do not include “www”)
Or you could simply go to Whois.net. It is possible, however, that the registar that the domain was registered with, has protected the information of the person who registered it. Best of luck!
Go to http://www.godaddy.com and do a “whois” lookup on your domain. It will give the registrar and contact info for the responsible party.
